Alpha Lipoic Acid
Alpha Lipoic Acid is a fatty acid that is found naturally in every cell within the body.
It is soluble in both water and lipid based tissues and functions well alongside vitamins C and E as well as glutathione.
It is also a powerful anti-oxidant and has an essential role in the metabolism of the macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins and fats).
It’s important for vital functions at a cellular level, where it helps convert glucose into energy for your cells to use.
Alpha-Lipoic Acid is also a powerful antioxidant, helping protect your body’s cells against oxidative damage and environmental toxins. It is both water and fat-soluble, which means that it can work throughout the body – unlike other antioxidants that only work in water (e.g. Vitamin C) OR in fatty tissues (e.g. Vitamin E). More information about ALA can be found here.
Many people choose to supplement their intake of ALA, because our bodies can only produce it in small amounts. The best dietary sources of ALA are found in animal products: specifically red meat and organ meats. However, vegetables such as Brussels sprouts, spinach and broccoli also contain a little bit.
B Complex
B Complex vitamins play a vital role in energy metabolism and overall cellular function. They help convert food into energy, support brain health, and contribute to the maintenance of healthy skin, hair, and nervous system function.
Glutathione
Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant found in every cell in the body. Glutathione breaks down free radicals and assists in cell regeneration.
Sodium Chloride
When salts are mixed with water, they are used to replenish those lost during dehydration.
